DTP Vaccination

An IUD is a little T-shaped copper device that is inserted into the uterus. It releases copper to prevent pregnancies, and it lasts between 5 and 10 years, depending on the variety. The disease is preventable by vaccination, which helps the body to fight infection and reduce the possible complications. Implanon is a contraceptive implant, one of the many long-lasting and reversible contraceptive techniques available. It contains the synthetic hormone etonogestrel, which is produced by a woman's ovaries and is comparable to the hormone progesterone that occurs naturally. This hormone stops the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation), by altering the cervical mucus, and changing  the uterine lining.

The dimensions of the implant are four centimeters in length by two millimeters in width, roughly the size of a match. It is carefully implanted in aseptic conditions underneath the skin in the upper arm. It can be felt after insertion but is difficult to see. Implanon is a highly effective way of contraception that lasts for 3 years, with effectiveness going over 99%. It may however be less effective for some groups of women, such as women with BMI higher than 30.
