Condyloma, or anal warts, are warts that develop on or around your anus (the opening to your rectum). They are caused by Human papillomavirus (HPV), a STI that is shared through sexual or skin-to-skin contact with an infected individual. Anal warts initially appear as little, rounded lumps. They may leak fluid and are pale brown, yellow, pink, or flesh-colored. Warts can grow rapidly and cluster into enormous cauliflower-like masses. You might not be able to feel or see anal warts if they are located inside your rectum. Anal warts need to be removed as it will keep growing and may spread if left untreated. Large anal warts or warts inside your rectum are best removed surgically, by cutting the warts off under local anesthesia.
