Kidney Use With Care
Acarbose is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor.
Alcohol Not Advisable
Alcohol can alter the glucose level in a diabetic patient, rendering the inefficacy of Acarbose to control the glucose level. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol and Acarbose concomitantly.
Pregnancy Maybe Safe
There are no clinical studies on the safety profile of Acarbose in pregnant women. Thus, it should be avoided during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.
Driving Generally Safe
Acarbose usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Liver High Risk
Acarbose is contraindicated in patients with liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Not Advisable
Excretion of Acarbose has been shown in animal studies and not in human studies. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding as the risk to breastfed infants cannot be excluded. Please consult your doctor.
