Uses of Carbocisteine + Promethazine

Carbocisteine + promethazine is used for unproductive cough and it is particularly used at night.

How Carbocisteine + Promethazine Works

Carbocisteine reduce mucus viscosity and which helps cough up easily. Phenothiazine blocks histamine action which prevents allergic reactions and also has sedating effects.

Kidney Use With Care

Carbocisteine + Promethazine should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Carbocisteine + Promethazine. Taking Carbocisteine + Promethazine with alcohol may worsen the side effects such as headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and palpitations.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Animal studies have not shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Not advisable

Carbocisteine + Promethazine may cause side effects such as sedation, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, and psychomotor impairment, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Liver Limited Data

Carbocisteine + Promethazine should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Carbocisteine + Promethazine may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

Carbocisteine + Promethazine may be excreted in breastmilk. No human data suggests that Carbocisteine + Promethazine does not represent a significant risk to the baby. Carbocisteine + Promethazine is not recommended for use during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
