How Carbomer Works

Carbomer is a type of ophthalmic lubricant. It is a polymer that is able to maintain moisture on the corneal surface for a longer period of time with less frequent application.

Side Effects of Carbomer

Blurring of vision, Corneal irritation, Increased lacrimation, Conjunctival edema, Eye discomfort, Eye pain, Pruritus, Hyperemia, Contact dermatitis

Warnings

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Carbomer is safe to be used in patients with kidney disease. The metabolism and excretion of Carbomer does not involve the kidneys.

Alcohol Safe

There is no known interaction of Carbomer with alcohol.

Pregnancy Safe If Prescribed

Safety for use in pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Carbomer should not be used in these situation unless permitted by doctor.

Driving Not advisable

It is unsafe to use Carbomer with driving. Carbomer may cause side effects such as blurring of vision and eye discomfort which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Liver Limited Data

Carbomer is safe to be used in patients with liver disease. The metabolism of Carbomer does not involve the liver.

Lactation Limited Data

Safety for use in pregnancy and lactation has not been established. It should not be used in these situation unless permitted by doctor.
