How Hydrocortisone Injection Works

Hydrocortisone Injection is a corticosteroid that exerts anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It can inhibit polymorphonuclear leukocytes from migrating and reduce the permeability of increased capillaries.

Side Effects of Hydrocortisone Injection

Muscle wasting, Osteoporosis, Weakness, Headache, Depression, Obesity, Psychosis, Menstrual irregularities, Infection, Growth retardation in children

Warnings

Kidney Use With Care

Hydrocortisone Injection Injection can be used in patients with kidney impairment. However it may in certain cases cause fluid retention.

Alcohol Use With Care

Alcohol may cause gastric irritation and the concomitant consumption of alcohol and Hydrocortisone Injection Injection may wrosen the gastric problems.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Hydrocortisone Injection Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown side effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Hydrocortisone Injection Injection usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Liver Limited Data

Lactation Limited Data

There is limited data on the usage of Hydrocortisone Injection Injection during breastfeeding. It is found that Hydrocortisone Injection Injection is excreted in very little quantities in breast milk and not adequate to cause harmful effects.
