Hyoscine Butylbromide is commonly used in the treatment of motion sickness and pain due to smooth muscle spasm.

How Hyoscine Butylbromide Works

Hyoscine Butylbromide is an antimuscarinic that blocks the action of acetylcholine in the smooth muscles. As a result, it prevents spasmodic actions on the smooth muscles, inhibits secretions, motion-induced nausea and vomiting.

Side Effects of Hyoscine Butylbromide

Hypotension, Tachyarrythmias, Drowsiness, Dry mouth, Confusion, Increased intraocular pressure, Visual hallucinations, Blurred vision, Eye pain, Delusion, Seizure

Warnings

Kidney Use With Care

It is advisable to use Hyoscine Butylbromide with caution in patients having renal impairment because of increased risks of adverse effects.

Alcohol Use With Care

It is safe to drink alcohol with Hyoscine Butylbromide. However, it is recommended to limit drinking as alcohol might increase the side effect of Hyoscine Butylbromide such as dizziness.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have shown that there is an adverse effect on the fetus, though there is limited data on the usage of Hyoscine Butylbromide in pregnant women. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid Hyoscine Butylbromide during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.

Driving Generally Safe

There are no studies of Hyoscine Butylbromide on the effect of ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are well..

Liver Limited Data

It is advisable to use Hyoscine Butylbromide with caution in patients having liver impairment because of increased risks of adverse effects.

Lactation Limited Data
