How Imidapril Works

Imidapril is a drug that belongs to a group called ACE-inhibitor which works by decreasing the production of the end product in Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone system hence promotes dilation of blood vessel and blood pressure reduction.

Side Effects of Imidapril

Dizziness, Headache, Fatigue, Somnolence, Dry cough

Warnings

Kidney High Risk

Dosage adjustment is needed for people with renal impairment and contraindicated for patients with renal failure (creatinine clearance <10ml/min).

Alcohol Safe

There is no clear contraindication on the consumption of alcohol when taking Imidapril.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Imidapril is contraindicated to be used in second and third trimester of pregnancy due to its adverse effects on pregnancy and fetal development.

Driving Not advisable

It is not advisable to drive when under Imidapril treatment due to its potential side effects such as headache and dizziness which can affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Liver Limited Data

Caution should be taken for patients with hepatic impairment as there are cases of cholestatic jaundice been reported with intake of ACE-inhibitor drugs.

Lactation Limited Data

No data is available on the use of Imidapril on breastfeeding woman. It is advisable not to take Imidapril during breastfeeding.
