Ketoconazole + Zinc pyrithione is used to treat scalp conditions such as dandruff and seborrhoiec dermatitis.

How Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione Works

Ketoconazole is an antifungal which works by inhibiting fungal growth and activity. Zinc pyrithione reduces irritation and flaking.

Dryness, Scalp Discomfort,Hair Discoloration, Abnormal Hair Texture, Oily Scalp

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible. It is, therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with renal impairment.

Alcohol Safe

As Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione is used topically, the risk of interacting with alcohol consumed is negligible.

Pregnancy Limited Data

The safety of Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione in human pregnancy is not established. Therefore, Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione should only be used for pregnant women after careful risk/benefit assessment by the doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione is for external application. Therefore, it does not interfere with the ability to drive.

Liver Safe If Prescribed

Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible to cause any effect , therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with liver impairment.

Lactation Limited Data

It is not known whether Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione is excreted into the human breastmilk. It is not advisable to apply topical Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione on the chest to avoid accidental contact with the infant.
