How Mebeverine Works

Mebeverine is an antispasmodic agent for the GI smooth muscle. Its various mechanisms of actions are a decrease in ion channel permeability, blockade of norepinephrine reuptake, a local anaesthetic effect, changes in water absorption and weak anti-muscarinergic and phosphodiesterase inhibitory effect.

Side Effects of Mebeverine

Dizziness, Headache, Constipation, Insomnia, Loss of appetite, Decreased heart rate, Hypersensitivity reaction

Kidney Use With Care

Mebeverine usage on a patient with kidney disease has not been studied. Dose adjustment of Mebeverine may be needed. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Mebeverine. There's no known drug interactions between them. However, please consult your doctor before using it.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Both animal studies and human studies regarding adverse effects of Mebeverine on the fetus are inconclusive. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Driving Generally Safe
