Methyldopa crosses placenta but according to human pregnancy data, it is safe to be used as there were no fetal harm or toxicity reported.
Driving Not advisable
It is not advisable to drive when under Methyldopa treatment due to its potential side effects such as fatigue, headache and dizziness which can affect the ability to concentrate and drive.
Liver Safe If Prescribed
Methyldopa should be used with caution and close monitoring is advisable for patients with hepatic impairment. It is contraindicated in those with active liver disease.
