Neomycin Opthalmic is an antibiotic that is active against many types of Gram-negative bacteria, but not against some, such as Pseudomonas sp., and it is also active against many types of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Warnings
Kidney Safe If Prescribed
Neomycin Opthalmic needs cautious use in patients with renal impairment as it can cause nephrotoxicity. Dose adjustment of Neomycin Opthalmic and monitoring of renal function is necessary. Please consult your doctor.
Alcohol Safe
There is no known interaction of Neomycin Opthalmic with alcohol.
Pregnancy Maybe Safe
Neomycin Opthalmic is not recommended during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant the use of Neomycin Opthalmic in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Driving Generally Safe

Liver Limited Data
Neomycin Opthalmic is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible to cause any effect , therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with liver impairment.
Lactation Limited Data
It is not known whether Neomycin Opthalmic is excreted into the human breastmilk. It is not advisable to apply topical Neomycin Opthalmic on the chest to avoid accidental contact with the infant.
