Uses of Pancreatin

Pancreatin is commonly used to treat pancreatic insufficiency.

How Pancreatin Works

Pancreatin is a multienzymes containing amylase, lipase, protease which hydrolyse fats to glycerol and fatty acids, break down protein into derived substances, and convert starch into dextrins and sugars.

Side Effects of Pancreatin

Abdominal pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Abdominal distention, Diarrhea.

Warnings

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Kidney disease is not one of the contraindications in using Pancreatin. However, please consult your doctor before using it.

Alcohol Limited Data

There is no data available on Pancreatin interactions between alcohol and Pancreatin. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Both animal studies and human studies are inadequate to prove potential adverse effects of Pancreatin. Please consult your doctor if the benefits from use in pregnant women may outweigh the risk.

Driving Generally Safe

Pancreatin cause minimal to no side effects which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Liver Safe If Prescribed

Lactation Safe If Prescribed

Pancreatin is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that Pancreatin does not represent a significant risk to the baby. Please consult your doctor before using it.
