How Silver Sulfadiazine Works
Silver Sulfadiazine is an antibiotic with bactericidal activity. It acts on the bacterial cell wall and cell membrane which kills the bacterias.

Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Hypersensitivity, Skin reactions, Haematuria, Crystalluria, Thrombocytopenia, Leucopenia, Eosinophilia
Warnings
Kidney Use With Care
Silver Sulfadiazine should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of silver sufadiazine may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Alcohol Safe
No interaction as Silver Sulfadiazine is used topically.
Pregnancy Maybe Safe
Animal studies have shown no toxic effects on the foetus. However, it does not have adequate information on human studies, therefore, usage only if clearly justified, especially in women approaching or at term.
Driving Generally Safe
Silver Sulfadiazine usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Liver Limited Data
Silver Sulfadiazine should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Silver Sulfadiazine may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Limited Data
It is not known whether Silver Sulfadiazine is excreted in human milk but the sulfonamide class of drugs are known to have jaundice effect on newborns. Hence, usage can only be considered when benefits outweigh the harm.
