How Triamcinolone Topical Works
Triamcinolone Topical is a corticosteroid which exerts its action by reducing the permeability of the capillaries and inhibiting the migration of leukocytes. As a result, inflammatory response is reduced. It also reduces activity and volume of the lymphatic system involved in the body's immunity.
Side Effects of Triamcinolone Topical
Nausea, Vomiting, Fluid retention, Headache, Increased appetite, Weight gain, Painful joints, Difficulty in swallowing, Immunosuppression, Psychiatric disturbances (Insomnia and depression).
Warnings
Kidney Use With Care
Triamcinolone Topical should only be used with doctor's advice as this medication contain sodium and is excreted by the kidneys, therefore it may cause impairment in pre-existing kidney disease.
Alcohol Not Advisable
Do not drink alcohol when you are taking Triamcinolone Topical as it might worsen the side effects.
Pregnancy Not Safe
Do inform your doctor if you are pregnant because Triamcinolone Topicalcrosses the placenta. Study of the animals reported some side effects on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans. Use it only when benefits outweight the risks as there is a risk of adrenocortical suppression in newborn in mother on long-term corticosteroid therapy.
Driving Generally Safe
Triamcinolone Topical usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Liver Use With Care
Triamcinolone Topical is metabolized in the liver, therefore it should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Not Advisable
There is inadequate data available for Triamcinolone Topical can pass into breast milk and may cause harm to the baby. Consult your doctor before taking this medication as Triamcinolone Topicalcan affect growth in children.
