Uses of Ademetionine

Ademetionine is commonly used in the treatment of alcoholic fatty liver disease, cholestatic liver diseases, liver disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

How Ademetionine Works

Adefovir works by competitively inhibit a natural substrate that is essential for DNA replication of the virus. This inhibit the viral spreading of Hepatitis B virus.

Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomitting, Abdominal pain, Headache, Itchiness, Skin rash

Warnings

Kidney Use With Care

It is recommended to use Ademetionine with caution in patients with renal impairment.

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is not advisable to consume alcohol with Ademetionine as there is limited data on the interaction between both.

Pregnancy Limited Data

High doses of Ademetionine administered during the last 3 months of pregnancy does not cause any adverse effect on the fetus. It is advisable to use Ademetionine in the first trimester of pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh potential risks.

Driving Generally Safe

Ademetionine usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Liver Safe If Prescribed

Ademetionine is safe to be used in patients with liver impairment as the pharmacokinetic parameters are similar in patients with chronic liver disease and healthy volunteers.

Lactation Limited Data

The decision to use Ademetionine during breastfeeding depends on the benefits of treatment to the mother or the benefits of breastfeeding to the infant.
