Uses of Dapoxetine

Dapoxetine is commonly used in the treatment of Premature Ejaculation.

How Dapoxetine Works

Dapoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It works by inhibiting neuronal reuptake of serotonin and the subsequent potentiation of the action of neurotransmitters at the pre and postsynaptic receptors. It delays the ejaculation which helps in patients with premature ejaculation.

Side Effects of Dapoxetine

Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Constipation, Abdominal pain, Dyspepsia, Dry mouth, Flushing, Sweating, Malaise, Dizziness, Headache

Warnings

Kidney High Risk

Dapoxetine is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Dapoxetine is necessary. Please consult your doctor.

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Dapoxetine. Taking Dapoxetine with alcohol may increase the risk of neurocognitive and neurocardiogenic adverse effects.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Dapoxetine is not intended to be used in women.

Driving Not advisable

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Dapoxetine may cause side effects such as fainting which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Liver Limited Data

Dapoxetine is contraindicated in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment. Dose adjustment of Dapoxetine is necessary. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

Dapoxetine is not intended to be used in women.
