Uses of Dequalinium

Dequalinium is commonly used in the treatment of Bad Odor From Mouth, Bacterial infection of the mouth and throat, Bacterial vaginosis.

How Dequalinium Works

Dequalinium is an anti-infective agent. It works by increasing permeability of bacterial cell wall and reduces enzymatic activity leading to cell death.

Side Effects of Dequalinium

Vaginal candidiasis, Vaginal discharge, Vulvovaginal burning sensation, Nausea , Headache, Bacterial vaginitis, Redness

Kidney Limited Data

There is no information regarding the safety of Dequalinium in patients with kidney disease.

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Dequalinium as there is no known drug interactions.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Dequalinium should only be used in pregnant women if the benefits outweigh the risks. Animal studies do not show any adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies..

Driving Limited Data

There is no information regarding the effect of Dequalinium on driving and general attention.

Liver Safe If Prescribed

There is no information regarding the safety of Dequalinium in patients with liver disease.

Lactation Safe If Prescribed

Dequalinium is probably safe to use during lactation as there is no harmful effect to infants.
