Docusate is a laxative Docusate plays the role of fecal softener by allowing more fluid to enter the feces.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

No dosage adjustments needed for Docusate in a patient with kidney problems..

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Docusate. Consuming Docusate with alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works.

Pregnancy Safe If Prescribed

Docusate may be safe to use but caution has to be taken for prolonged use as it can cause fetal toxicity in the first trimester and hypomagnesemia.

Driving Generally Safe

Docusate usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Liver Use With Care

No dosage adjustments needed in the administration of Docusate in a patient with liver impairment.

Lactation Use With Care

Docusate is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data showed that Docusate does not cause significant risk to the baby. Please consult your doctor.
