Topical Econazole is used to treat fungal skin infections (which cause itching and irritation).

How Econazole Topical Works

Topical Econazole is a combination medication that includes econazole nitrate (which prevents fungi proliferation) and triamcinolone acetonide (a corticosteroid effective against inflammation symptoms).

Skin Burning Sensation, Skin, Irritation, Redness.

Warnings

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Econazole Topical is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible. It is, therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with renal impairment.

Alcohol Safe

As Econazole Topical is used topically, the risk of interacting with alcohol consumed is negligible.

Pregnancy Limited Data

The safety of Econazole Topical in human pregnancy is not established. Therefore, Econazole Topical should only be used for pregnant women after careful risk/benefit assessment by the doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Econazole Topical is for external application. Therefore, it does not interfere with the ability to drive.

Liver Safe If Prescribed

Econazole Topical is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible to cause any effect , therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with liver impairment.

Lactation Limited Data

It is not known whether Econazole Topical is excreted into the human breastmilk. It is not advisable to apply topical Econazole Topical on the chest to avoid accidental contact with the infant.
