Fluorometholone is used to treat certain eye conditions due to inflammation or injury.
How Fluorometholone Works
Fluorometholone is a synthetic corticosteroid that readily penetrates cells to induce the production of lipocortins, the proteins responsible for modulating the action of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It also blocks the inflammatory response including oedema, capillary dilatation, leukocyte migration, and scar formation.
Side Effects of Fluorometholone
Eye pain, irritation, pruritus, swelling, Dysgeusia, Hypersensitivity reaction and Rash.

It is safe to consume alcohol with Fluorometholone as there is no known drug interactions.
Pregnancy Not Safe
Animal studies of Fluorometholone have shown reproductive toxicity effects on foetus but there are limited data on human studies. Fluorometholone is found to be excreted in human milk during lactation. Therefore, it should not be given during lactation.
