Uses of Flurbiprofen Oral
Flurbiprofen is commonly used to treat ankylosing spondylitis, arthralgia (joint pain), dental pain, gout, headache, mouth ulcers, musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, pain during menstruation, post-operative pain, rheumatic pain, and rheumatoid arthritis.
How Flurbiprofen Oral Works
Flurbiprofen inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin by decreasing cyclooxygenase activity which then causes a reduction in prostaglandin levels. It is also a strong inhibitor of platelet aggregation.

Dizziness, Headache, Dyspepsia, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Gastrointestinal bleeding, Edema
Warnings
Kidney Use With Care
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Flurbiprofen Oral may cause a dose-dependent reduction in the formation of Flurbiprofen Oral and this will precipitate renal failure. The risk of renal failure is increased in patients with underlying impaired renal function and thus, their renal function should be monitored closely.
Alcohol Not Advisable
It is not advisable to drink alcohol with Flurbiprofen Oral because the alcohol may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding caused by Flurbiprofen Oral.
Pregnancy Not Safe
There is an increased risk of miscarriage, cardiac malformation, and gastroschisis following usage of Flurbiprofen Oral synthesis inhibitor during early pregnancy. Animal studies have demonstrated that there is an adverse risk to the fetus and there are inadequate human studies, though potential benefits may allow the usage of Flurbiprofen Oral in pregnant women. Flurbiprofen Oral should be avoided during the first and second trimester of pregnancy unless it is deemed necessary, with the lowest dose possible and the shortest duration of treatment. It is contraindicated during the third trimester.
Driving Generally Safe
Flurbiprofen Oral usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Liver Limited Data
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Flurbiprofen Oral may cause elevation of liver function test. In those with hepatic impairment, dose adjustment may be needed as Flurbiprofen Oral is extensively metabolised by the liver.
Lactation Limited Data
Flurbiprofen Oral is excreted in human breast milk in a very small amount thus it is not recommended to be used during breastfeeding.
