Formoterol + Budesonide is used to treat Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and asthma.
How Formoterol + Budesonide Works
Budesonide is a corticosteroid which works by reducing inflammation, swelling and irritation of the airway. Formoterol is a long acting bronchodilator which relaxes bronchial muscle which ease breathing.

Blurred Vision, Sudden Coughing, Difficulty Breathing
Warnings
Kidney Use With Care
Formoterol + Budesonide should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease, even though there is limited data on the effects.
Alcohol Not Advisable
Alcohol markedly increases heart rate especially when it is taken together with Formoterol + Budesonide.
Pregnancy Not Safe
There have been animal studies where there was an effect on the foetus especially in the early stages. There are limited or no human studies done yet. Formoterol + Budesonide can still be taken if the benefits outweigh the risks so please consult your doctor.
Driving Generally Safe
Formoterol + Budesonide should not affect alertness or driving ability.
Liver Limited Data
Use with caution as hepatic impairment may lead to accumulation of Formoterol + Budesonide. Hence, close monitoring is required.
Lactation Limited Data
In the limited animal studies done, it is found that Formoterol + Budesonide is excreted in small amounts in breast milk. There are no human studies done yet. Therefore, please consult your doctor to discuss the benefits versus risks before using Formoterol + Budesonide.
