Uses of Guselkumab

Guselkumab treat adults with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who may benefit from taking injections or pills (systemic therapy) or phototherapy (treatment using ultraviolet or UV light).

How Guselkumab Works

Guselkumab is a type of monoclonal antibody. It works by neutralizing the activity of a protein called IL-23, which is present at increased levels in people with psoriasis.

Side Effects of Guselkumab

Headache, Joint pain (arthralgia), Diarrhoea, Redness, irritation or pain at the injection site, Increased level of liver enzymes in the blood

Warnings

Kidney Limited Data

Guselkumab has not been studied in these patient populations. No dose recommendations can be made

Alcohol Limited Data

There is limited data if alcohol changes the effect of Guselkumab.

Pregnancy Limited Data

The use of Guselkumab in pregnant women has not been studied. The effect of Guselkumab on human pregnancy is unknown.

Driving Generally Safe

Guselkumab has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Liver Limited Data

Guselkumab has not been studied in these patient populations. No dose recommendations can be made

Lactation Limited Data

It is unknown whether Guselkumab is excreted in human milk. You should discuss with your doctor whether to discontinue, or abstain from initiating treatment with Guselkumab.
