Naftifine is commonly used to treat skin Fungal Infections

How Naftifine Works

Naftifine is an antifungal that has both fungicidal and fungistatic activity. It inhibits enzyme squalene monooxygenase selectively which results in reduced synthesis of ergosterol within the fungal membrane.

Rash, Redness, Stinging on skin, Local Irritation, Burning sensation, Dry skin

Warnings

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

This medication is safe to use in kidney impairment

Alcohol Safe

Naftifine is a topical medication. There is no interaction of the topical application of Naftifine with taking alcohol.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Animal studies have shown no adverse effect of Naftifine towards fetal. However, no adequate controlled studies in human (pregnant woman) have been conducted to prove this.

Driving Generally Safe

It is safe to drive or operate the machine with usage of Naftifine. However only drive when you are feeling well.

Liver Limited Data

This medication is safe to use in liver impairment

Lactation Limited Data

There is no study available for the safety of Naftifine in breastfeeding. However, it is not recommended to be applied around nipple or breast if breastfeeding.
