Zinc Pyrithione is commonly used to treat Dandruff and Fungal Infections.

How Zinc Pyrithione Works

Zinc pyrithione is commonly used in the shampoo with Ketoconazole to inhibit fungal growth by increasing the copper intake and causing inactivation of fungal protein, leading to growth cessation. Thus, it aids in treating dandruff and fungal infections on the scalp.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Zinc Pyrithione is safe to use in patients with kidney impairment.

Alcohol Safe

Zinc Pyrithione is not known to be absorbed systematically thus will not interact with ingested alcohol.

There are no established studies of Zinc Pyrithione in animal or human studies. Hence, it should only be used when benefits outweigh the risks. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Zinc Pyrithione usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
